Do I need planning permission to install a stove? It is a legal requirement to notify your local authority Building Control department. HOWEVER,
In England and Wales, when you use a specialist stove installer who is registered on the HETAS competent persons scheme there is no need for time-consuming and expensive Building Control notification. We will be able to issue a Building Regulations compliance certificate and register this with HETAS. HETAS is the official body recognised by the Government to approve wood burning and solid fuel domestic heating appliances. We are HETAS registered.
